The IWC watch company began with a man named Florentine Ariosto Jones who was a watchmaker and an American engineer. He successfully ran the company until he died in 1905. His wife and his two daughters now became the owners of the IWC Company. Around 1930 the company presented to the public the first that was designed especially for aviators with an antimagnetic mechanism.
