The Iron Man chooses the Audi R8
Wonder which car the Iron Man drives to put an end to his enemies’ antics? Which else, but the Audi R8! When the Iron Man graduated to cinema from comic books in the early 1960’s to innovate and destroy the evil forces, he did what he was expected to – adapt to the latest technology.
The endless thrills by Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark in the Iron Man on Foes are well accompanied by the R8’s speed, technological novelty, and raw power. However, this is not the R8’s first performance on the big screen.
The Audi R8’s motoring skills were also seen in Robot I, three years back. The Audi R8 never ceased to delight with its fabulous chase scenes. The Audi R8 Le Mans Quattro came with a 4.2-liter V8 engine and a four-wheel drive configuration that distributed power with such evenness that tunnel or racetrack, the R8 gulped any surface with utmost ease.
This same model has become even more sophisticated today. The 420 horses can take it to a speed of 60 mph in a mere 4.4 seconds. Getting behind the wheels of this kind of sheer power, the lead man will be doing just what his car’s engine is expected to do – leave a trail of glory and the competition behind!
