The Terrific Blackberry Storm Cellular Phone

Blackberry mobile phones have been prestigious for their comfortable Qwerty keyboard. Within the business world, BlackBerry cellular phones have been hailed as number one in being the perfect friend for doctors, attorneys and professionals in the variety of arenas. Even iPhone fanatics and carriers of the Google mobile phones, who have had experience with Blackberry mobiles confess that as for functions such as text messaging, Blackberries are the most wonderful. In the world of smartphones, they are surly not lacking either. For we human beings, such the big-brained species with opposable thumbs that we are, the real Qwerty keyboard of Blackberry cell phones delight us with high standards for real-time tactile sensation, Blackberry cellular phones were unquestionably the standard of smart phones.

Then Blackberry planned to launch the Blackberry Storm and shocked everyone. Gone was the nice tactile Qwerty keyboard which everyone found helpful and easy-to-use. The only feature in which this mobile phone is similar to other Blackberry cell phones is the BlackBerry OS and RIM’s revolutionary email and messaging services. Different from other BlackBerry mobile phones, the QWERTY or SureType keypad and light-up trackball for navigation does not exist any more. How does the latest virtual QWERTY compare to the full-sized signature QWERTY keyboard? One comment reported that the virtual keyboard was difficult to use because people who use it have to release the key before typing another. The consequence is slow or lagging typing.

BlackBerry Storm is a wide 3.25”, touch screen gadget that also offers quantities of the similar features as the iPhone, but also offers a clickable display. Unlike the iPhone and Instinct , the BlackBerry Storm uses a completely extraordinary “click” technique referred to as SurePress which actually allows you to scroll the screen down, giving you the feeling of using a PC mouse.

While the 2nd generation of iPhone has a 2MP cam similar to the 1st generation iPhones, the BlackBerry Storm improves their mobile phone cam to 3.2MP, in addition to AF and a 2x digital zoom feature. Moreover the BlackBerry Storm supposedly, similar to the 1st generation, has fast 7.2Mbps HSDPA internet capabilities—putting it ahead of the iPhone. The BlackBerry Storm also features a useful bedside mode that is helpful in removing those drunken 2:00am phone calls from friends at club. Meanwhile, the BlackBerry Storm can still be applied as an alarm clock.

One more benefit is that the BlackBerry Storm offers better screen resolution than both the iPhone and T-Mobile’s GI Android cell phone. At 480 x 360 pixels, the BlackBerry Storm outdoes both the iPhone and T-Mobile’s GI Android phone. On the back of the phone, the cover of the battery is made from solid piece of brushed aluminium, behind which is a removable mobile phone battery. The screen is very crisp and clear and selections radiate a cool bluish glow when pressed. The screen of the BlackBerry Storm is bright enough, though it does not trump the squint-worthy brightness of the iPhone completely.

While the BlackBerry Storm offers enough value in some senses there are some disbenefits to
the mobile phone. The 3rd-party software for the Storm is left far behind the iPhone. All in all there is not a lot of third-party applications for BlackBerry cellular phones, not to mention Storm-specific applications.Plus, as the BlackBerry Storm is quite different from all the predecessor keyboard and trackball BlackBerries, third-party software for the Storm is practically non-existent. Whereas, the RIM software that comes store-bought with the Storm is quite good.

Mac users go without good luck when it comes to syncing their Storms with their laptops. Where RIM gets a free application referred to as PocketMac that was able to sync previous BlackBerries, there is not yet a program that enables Mac users to deal so with the BlackBerry Storm. Probably, if Mac users wait a little bit longer, RIM will come out with a PocketMac that accommodates the BlackBerry Storm cell phone.

At last, which there is some terrific functionality that the Storm offers, a lot seems to be a marketing ploy which will make potential users believe that the BlackBerry Storm is an adequate competitor to the iPhone. Unfortunately, apart from functions like a better camera and better resolution, the overall UE of the BlackBerry Storm is inferior in contrast.
