Mexico and in particular Cancun are very popular destination to spend your vacation not only if you want to pass your days relaxing and lying on the sun but also visiting its famous cultural sites. Beside white amazing beaches with turquoise water of the Atlantic Ocean, in Cancun you can also find a lively nightlife with restaurant, pubs and discos.

If you want to relax and avoid crowds is better to travel off-peak as this let you benefit also of cheaper flights and accommodations. Probably the best period is November as hurricane have already passed and there are not so many tourists as in December. So you will be able to enjoy tours, clubs and restaurants with less crowd. In November temperatures in Cancun are around 84°F (28°C) hardly going over 90°F (32°C).

If you are interested in diving, swimming and snorkeling, this is the best period, in fact you can rent equipment and charter a dive boat without having to wait. You will also get a sounder night’s sleep at your hotel.

Another good period to spend a vacation in Cancun is January/February as you can enjoy almost always perfect weather with temperatures near 82°F (27°C). But this part of the year is considered high season, so it will cost more.

The hurricane season is officially from June to the end of October but generally you can be safe till the end of July. The peak season is in March during the spring break when Cancun and its resorts get busy by thousands of college students. Another crowded period is June as many families spend their holidays here. June, July and August can be extremely hot and humid with average temperatures around 89°F (31°C).

Always search for deals on Cancun hotels and flights booking, so you can spare some money. If you want to plan your vacation you can book early so you can choose the best resorts. On the other hand, booking last minute can also have its rewards. You can get cheaper flight tickets and accommodation but you may not be able to choose your preferred resort.

Hotel in Cancun offers information and pictures of the best 5 star hotels in Cancun Mexico and cheap hotels in Cancun hotel zone in addition to Cancun weather forecasts and climate.

Lanzarote is the largest of the wonderful Canary Islands and guarantees its visitors and exceptional vacation. While there are many, many things to do in Lanzarote the first and foremost attractions as always are the many inviting beaches that the island is blessed with.

Lanzarote as a popular tourist destination is quite family oriented, though this should in no way deter couples as there are many holiday options suitable for couples only. For families though, they can holiday knowing that the needs of the entire family will be fulfilled when they holiday on a Lazarote beach such as the beaches at Costa Teguise and Puerto del Carmen. These beaches offer entertainment such as banana boat rides, paragliding, water rides and water sports. These beaches are sheltered and therefore relatively safe for swimming and wading.

Lanzarote is also home to black beaches with El Golfo which is home to the famous Green Lagoon which has two black sand beaches. The area also has some village restaurants which offering fresh sea food for the sampling. However, El Golfo is not exactly a year round options, where as the aptly named Burnt Beach or Playa Quemada is a year round location where sunbathing is always possible.

Lanzarote is very popular with divers and windsurfers, due to its perfect windy weather conditions and the crystal clear waters that showcase the underwater volcanic rock formations to perfection. Add to this an abundant marine life and you have a diver’s version of paradise. It is easy to find diving instructors on the island, for visitors looking to experience the wonders of an underwater dive.

Being in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean Lanzarote enjoys from April to September the North East trade winds which make for perfect windsurfing. The Las Cucharas beach is a hit with surfers as towards afternoon the winds blow side-shore. The mornings though are ideal for beginners as the winds are lower and the jetty shelters the beach making it ideal for practicing. There are many windsurfing schools in the area for those wanting to give windsurfing a go.

Of course as is to be expected from a popular tourist destination the beaches of Lanzarote can be over crowded, as all facilities are made available for guest convenience. For those who want to be away from the masses and enjoy some quiet time on the beach there are such beaches as Papagayo and Famara which are both stunning locations but do not offer facilities.

While Papagayo has better weather as it is situated in the southern tip of the island, Famara which is on the northwest is ideal for idyllic walks and for flying kites. While a beach holiday is the perfect way to relax it is always advisable to be aware that you are at the beach and adhere to any instructions there are on the beach, such as if it is a safe time to swim by being aware of local conditions such as currents. Always make sure that you are within your capabilities.
No matter which beach you choose to holiday at or even if you decide to experience more than one beach, Lanzarote hotel accommodations are easy to find as there are numerous and well equipped to cater to any holiday needs.

The United Nations does not really need introduction, being the well known world body established to settle and sort out world disputes. The headquarters of the United Nation though located in New York is in fact international territory and does not officially belong to the United States. The plot of land was bought by John D. Rockefeller and then donated to the United Nations, upon which construction began towards the end of 1949 and was completed in 1950.

A multi national team of architects was appointed to design the building with the design of Le Corbusier finally being selected, well known as ‘Scheme 23A’, after which Oscar Niemeyer drew the final plan known as 23W was adopted by all.

This resulted in the now well known structure of the United Nations Headquarters, a complex that has four buildings, the Secretariat building, the General Assembly building, the Conference building and the Dag Hammarskjold Library.

Tours are available of the building, usually at half hourly intervals. For those really interested it is worth visiting as you get to see the Conference and Visitors Centre, General Assembly and Secretariat buildings. There is also a gift and souvenir shop for taking home gifts for family and friends.

In front of the United Nations Headquarters along 1st Avenue is a flag from each member of the UN, starting with the flag of Afghanistan and ending with Zimbabwe.

Owing to its location there are many attractions nearby such as the Daily News Building is a 37 story art deco building. It is most famous for the giant rotating globe that is in the lobby. It sits in a domed glass room with a map that is updated as necessary. There are clocks and thermometers that line the walls near the globe.

Another site worth visiting is the Chanin Building which is made of buff-brick it was constructed in 1929 and was one of the tallest buildings of its time. The owner Irwin Chanin described the building as an ‘architectural beauty wedded to business efficiency’.

The famous landmarks the Grand Central Station and the Penn are also worth visiting though the original Penn station was demolished and re-built without any of the grandeur. Grand Central Station was nearly demolished as well, but escaped this fate thanks to New York’s landmark preservation laws.

The Chrysler building was until 1974 the tallest building in the world, when it was overtaken by the Sears Tower in Chicago. It was commissioned by Walter P. Chrysler in a race to build the world’s tallest building and now has become one of the most popular buildings in New York.

New York offers visitors many diverse attractions ensuring that on one ever feels bored. The area near the United Nations headquarters offers a glimpse into New York’s past glory and old, yet enduring architecture that pays homage to New York’s glorious past.

There are many great hotels near the United Nations headquarters New York, which is perfect for people wanting to stay in the area and take in all the amazing sites. Pick from any of the available hotels such as the Hotel Roosevelt, Helmsley Middletown hotel and the Marriot East Side Hotel.l.

New York has much to offer a visitor so much so that sometimes it is hard to take it all in at one go. Ideally tourists should select a few attractions for the day and take it all in from the history to the modern day.

For instance we have all heard about the Empire State Building as being one of New York’s premier landmarks. Completed in 1931 the building had the distinction of being the tallest building in the work till the World Trade Centre (WTC) construction in 1972. It was once again the tallest building in New York City with the devastating destruction of the WTC in 2001.

Tourists flock to the Empire State Building, especially the observation decks on the 86th and 102nd floors, a journey which about a quarter of a mile above 5th Avenue. The observatories offer breathtaking views of the rooftops and the roadways and byways of the New York Metropolitan and sometimes as far away as the neighboring states. However, be prepared for exceedingly long lines to get in to the observation decks and sometimes if the traffic is too high you will find the decks closed.

Another unending appeal of the building is that it has appeared in hundreds of movies and adverts, such as the unforgettable Kind Kong, where the famous image of the giant ape climbing the building swatting away at the attacking planes. Other notable movies include An Affair to Remember and the Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks move Sleepless in Seattle.

102 storied building suffered damage when a US bomber crashed into the 79th floor killing 14 people in 1945. Despite this crash the building was open once again for business the following Monday. It is considered by most that it is a modern day world wonder, as it was built during the Depression and is considered a ‘testament to American fortitude and ingenuity’. The building became the profitable icon that it is now in the 1950s when it was bought over by Roger L Stevens.

The Empire State Building has a macabre history to it as well for some reason more than around 30 people have committed suicide from the top of the building. The very first suicide happened even before the completion of the building when a laid off worker took his own life. The “Most Beautiful Suicide’ is perhaps the most well known suicide where a 23 year old girl Evelyn Mc Hale humped off the observation deck on the 86th floor. She landed on a United Nations limousine parked at the curb and her body was intact without any outward appearance of trauma. A passing student took a picture of the corpse which was later painted by Andy Warhol.

Despite this, the Empire State Building is all about hope and the rebuilding of a nation and now is one of the city’s most busy buildings. It is currently undergoing renovation work to make it more a more energy efficient building. By staying at a hotel such as the Mave Hotel New York you can find yourself close by to such iconic structures as the Empire State Building. So visit New York and the Empire State Building and be amazed by its structure.

Located in the center of Midtown Manhattan, The Rockefeller Center is a complex of nineteen commercial buildings spanning 22 acres and located between Fifth Avenue and Sixth Avenue. Best known for its ‘Christmas Tree’, ‘Top of the Rock’ observation deck and ‘Radio City Music Hall’, it is a great New York destination for all visitors any time of the year.

Originally known as the Radio City, this complex came into being during the Great Depression. The location, originally intended for the construction of the Metropolitan Opera, used to be a red-light district owned by Columbia University.

The RCA building was the first to be completed and it served as the headquarters of the Radio Corporation of America. This 70 storey tower is the tallest in the complex and it served as the basis for all other Rockefeller structures. The RCA building is now popularly known as the 30 Rockefeller Plaza or GE Building.

As the building was designed during the Depression, to ensure that all floor space is occupied several measures were taken; each office designed to make the most of the natural light, fast elevators, air-conditioning and underground connections to the subway managed to lure in customers.

The best part of the Rockefeller Center is the observation deck on the top floor of the GE Building. The newly renovated art-deco style deck, popularly known as the ‘Top of the Rock’, offers panoramic view of the Central Park and the Empire State Building. This roof terrace has been around since the opening of the building in 1933 and currently the top three levels are open to the public. Easily accessible through the entrance at the West 50th Street, an elevator leads the public first to the completely covered 67th floor, then to the observation deck on the 69th, which sports a windshield, and then to the 70th floor, which is completely open.

The fourteen buildings of the Rockefeller Center surround the Lower Plaza. Popular for its skating rinks, the Lower Plaza connects to the Fifth Avenue via a pedestrian street providing easy access to its visitors. Known as the Channel Gardens, this decorated street offers views of the sculpture of Prometheus and the GE Building. The Radio City Music Hall was, at the time of construction, the largest indoor theatre in the world boasting a capacity of around 6000.

The Rockefeller Center, famously known as a ‘City in the City’, boast exceptional designing styles. All buildings of the center share an ‘Art Deco’ style and an underground concourse is used to connect each other. The complex is well incorporated in to the New York City and is a National Historic Landmark.

Other attractions in the area include the St Patrick’s Cathedral, the Museum of Modern Art, the Times Square and the Bryant Park. For travelers seeking accommodation in the area, hotels near Rockefeller Center New York range from boutique style, to luxury apartments, to luxury hotels to budget lodgings. Online lodging option providers feature great deals on most New York hotels assuring comfortable accommodation and easy access to the best of New York.

Art, history and literature lovers spend days at the Morgan Library and Museum exploring the most amazing collection of manuscripts, paintings and books – featuring a compilation of important, rare and priceless pieces covering Egyptian art, the Renaissance, manuscripts, rare books, and even the earliest evidence of writing.

Founded in 1906 to house the private collection and library of John Pierpont Morgan, which includes a rare collection of prints and drawings, the library was designed by Charles McKim. In 1924 it was made a public institution by Morgan’s son John Pierpont Morgan, Jr., and the building is now a National Historic Landmark.

Today the complex of buildings housing the Library and Museum also serve as a scholarly research centre. The library boasts many illuminated manuscripts as well as original manuscripts by famous authors. A few interesting and unusual items include, Sri Walter Scott’s ‘Ivanhoe’, and Charles Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’. Manuscripts by Charlotte Bronte, Lord Byron and original poems by Robert Burns are other popular items on display.

The collection also boasts a large compilation of incunabula, prints and drawings of European artists. The collection covers Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael, Rembrandt, Rubens, Gainsborough, Dürer, and Picasso. The incunabula include early printed Bibles, which includes the Biblia Latina, the first good example of European ‘moveable metal type’ and two other Gutenberg Bibles and Old Testament Miniatures with Latin, Persian, and Judeo-Persian inscriptions. The collection of printed books and bindings extends to cover important first editions from the 20th century, highlighted by first editions of classical authors. The vast Bindings Collection of about a thousand volumes represents English, French and Italian bindings of the 16th through the 19th century.

Most literary and history scholars are attracted to the material from Ancient Egypt and medieval Liturgical objects. Original drawing for the edition of the Book of Job by William Blake and Antoine de Saint Exupery’s concept drawings for The Little Prince are also on display.

The Morgan Library & Museum also houses a fine collection of music manuscripts, first editions of scores and librettos, some 1700 items spanning six centuries and covering many countries. The collection’s highlights include autograph manuscript of Ludwig van Beethoven’s Violin Sonata no. 10 in G, and Mozart’s “Haffner” Symphony, again an autograph manuscript. Apart from The Library also houses an impressive collection of manuscripts by Brahms, Chopin, Debussy, Schubert, and Richard Strauss.

The collection of drawings and paintings spans the 14th through 21st centuries, mainly focusing on European drawings before 1825. The collection includes 16th and 18th century Italian drawings; works by Raphael, Michelangelo and da Vinci, France represented by Claude, Watteau and Fragonard, and covers the works of Rembrandt, with the largest collection of Rembrandt etchings in the United State, Rubens and van Dyck.

Exploring Morgan’s vast collection would definitely take a couple of days and the best option would be to find lodging in the vicinity. For lodging close by try the Shelburne
Murray Hill Hotel in New York. Located in Midtown Manhattan, the hotel also provides easy access to Fifth Avenue shopping, The UN Headquarters and other interesting attractions and museums.

People from the world over flock to New York, be it on business or pleasure. New York is so synonymous with the American dream, that many think it is only a place for young adults to visit. This is not the case, as New York or the Big Apple as it is known caters to all age groups alike.

Travelling with kids is both most enjoyable and at the same time most stressful of experiences. Vacation or not children need to be kept entertained and luckily for parents travelling to New York this is just what they will find – entertainment.

Obviously the Big Apple is full of iconic landmark monuments such as the Statue of Liberty. This is a must visit for adults and children alike. As it is such a popular attraction it is always advisable to book passes early. However, it may be too tiring for little children to actually climb to the top of the statue, so let them view the statue for afar and appreciate its value.

What kid would not enjoy visiting the famous Grand Central station which is a hub of activity or the Rockefeller Centre with its grand Christmas tree and ice skating in the winter?

These are just a few of the places to visit with your kids. However, New York has many attractions and activities geared especially for children, such as the Central Park Zoo which has over 1400 animals or the Bronx Zoo which has so many animals to visit that kids well never feel a dull moment.

Parents should also take the kids to visit the Children’s Museum of Manhattan which has interactive exhibits guaranteed to captivate their attention. The Museum has five floors and has a variety of exhibits that are changed frequently. These exhibits are inspired by popular children’s books and television shows such as Winnie the Pooh. There are also interactive exhibits such as driving an animal rescue van.

Kids would also enjoy a visit to Coney Island’s New York Aquarium which also has an amusement park with rides and games such as ball tossing and games of skills. The Aquarium occupies 14 acres by the sea in Coney Island and has over 350 species of marine life. There are sea lion demonstrations as well as seals and penguins for the kids to see and learn about.

Other places of interest include the New York Hall of Science which offers fun exhibits that entice kids to learn more about science and the New York City Fire Museum which offers a look into the history of the fire problems of early New York.

Finding a place to stay in New York is more than easy and hotels such as the Paramount
Hotel Times Square which guarantees guests a comfortable and hassle free stay for its guests. Being in Times Square guests are assured of the location and know they are central to all New York has to offer. This makes getting about to the various places of interest easy which is essential when travelling with children.
