Taxis as wedding transport
When organising a wedding there are a hundred different things to do. Unless you are staying at the venue that you are getting married at you will need some kind of transport on the day. Hiring transport for a wedding can prove expensive. Add the word wedding before a service and the cost normally doubles. As well as the more common limousines and antique cars, taxis are popping up at weddings more often now.
Black cab taxis are used for weddings in New Zealand due to their association with London and the associated prestige and are becoming quite a popular mode of wedding transport in the U.K. also. Some companies offer taxis as a transport option for either arriving at the venue or ferrying your guests around. You could have a regular taxi done up with wedding bows or in some cases there are dedicated white wedding taxis available.
The benefits of booking a hackney style taxi over a traditional wedding car such as a limo includes price and availability in some cases. Hackney cabs have a certain air of regalness which can really suit a wedding. A basic old style hackney taxi can carry five passengers comfortably while some of the newer models can carry up to seven. Hiring taxis can also give your wedding a more unique feeling when compared to limos. Cost is another plus point for using taxis. The price of hiring a single taxi for a wedding can be between £100 and £300 for a few hours which is at the lower end of normal prices for antique cars or limousines.
