The best place to get a feel of the atmosphere of the city is the Wenceslas Square. A place which played a major role in Prague’s past – a turning point in its modern history, from the Nazi occupation, the communist takeover and the Velvet revolution – is now a major attraction due its shopping stores and cafes. A lovely place to take a break and indulge in a traditional Prague fried cheese sandwich. The Museum of Natural History is just above the square for those interested in probing further in to the country’s rich past.
The impressive medieval Prague Castle is an important symbol of the Czech – ancient and present day. Depicting architectural styles throughout the times, such as the Roman style form the 10th century to the Gothic style from the 14th century, the castle offers many interesting sights for the curios visitor. A composition of many palaces some of the major attractions are the two Titans framing the entrance, chambers of Czech royal family and the St George’s Basilica.
The biggest attraction within the Prague Castle, the St. Vitus Cathedral is a spiritual symbol of the Czech state. One of the most beautiful creations of the Gothic era, the interior of the cathedral features intricate décor and stained glass windows. The secret coronation chamber of the King of the Holy Roman Empire lies within these premises.

One of the most beautiful Neo-renaissance structures in the city, the Rudolfinum, is yet another adornment on the banks of the river Vltava. The famous music auditorium of the city, it had been the home-stage of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra for many decades. The Rudolfinum also houses the Dvorak Hall, famous for its acoustics, and the Galerie Rudolfinum, an art gallery focusing mainly on contemporary art. Acclaimed for its classical concerts the hall hosts varies classical music concerts and exhibitions.

The gorgeous Gothic structure of Charles Bridge spans the beautiful Vltava River which runs through the city of Prague. This famous landmark is adorned by giant stone statues representing religious figures that, it is believed, bring good fortune to those who touch them. What is by day a home to various artists and musicians transforms in to a dreamlike atmosphere at night offering views of the fairytale Prague Castle over the shimmering waters of the Vltava River.

For a modern experience amongst historic architecture visit the Dancing House. A most original piece of modern architecture this structure was modeled after the famous dancers Ginger Rogers and Fred Astair. The glass and steel structure with its daring curvy outline dominates the banks of Vltava River.

Lined with a variety of cafes, bars and restaurants offering traditional Czech grub and beer, the Old Town Square is located right at the very heart of the old Prague town. Take a break from the busy sightseeing tour or just spend the day admiring the view of the golden spires of the Gothic Church in one direction and the ornate Classical Church in the other.
